About Fentastic Treats and Fen
Life is so much better with a Fentastic Treats cookie ....or two!
How did the name "Fentastic Treats" come up?
I wanted to find a catchy name and something easy that people would remember.
After days of thinking of a catchy name, my son suggested instead of 'Fantastic' to change that into 'Fen-tastic'.
So this was the beginning of my journey in creating FENTASTIC TREATS.
Meet Fen the creator of Fentastic Treats:
I was never into baking but I have always had a soft spot for sweet desserts. You know, the ones that make you gain 5kg just from looking at it! When I was younger, my mum used to say, just watch me when I'm cooking, you don't have to do anything. I would scrunch my nose, and say 'no thanks, it's too hard'.

Early in 2018, I quit my full time work and concentrated on my wellbeing. In a casual conversation, I made a comment of '...how hard is it to make macarons?'. Little did I know that this was where the curiosity of my baking journey would begin. I found and tested all sorts of recipes. I made macarons, toblerone cheesecakes, lemon meringue pies, Portuguese custard pies, chocolate eclairs, and anything else I could think of that I'd like eating and would normally buy at the shops.

My next challenge was to bake some delicious cookies - the soft kind that just melts in your mouth. I baked chocolate, caramel, and coffee or any other flavour I could think of to make the cookies super delicious. I tasted each new experiment to make sure that the cookies were balanced in flavour and were moreish. Next came the decorating of these cookies. I began experimenting with fondant, royal icing, and piping on each cookie. Family, friends and neighbours became my taste testers. I was giving away cookies at every opportunity as I kept making more to practice.

I expanded this sweet journey by making and designing cakes on birthdays and special occassions. Thus, this led to cake orders which you see throughout this website.

Ever since I could remember, I have always enjoyed anything creative or arty. There's always something new to learn and I am learning that every day. I am amazed by the endless talent of bakers out there. The cookies/cake may take 5 seconds to eat, but the creation of designing that cookie/cake often takes patience, imagination, and steady hands. If you asked me for some cookies or cake 5 years ago, I would have bought you one instead. Now, I see that a lot of effort and love goes into creating a special cookie or that magical cake for that special someone or for that special day. All the effort is worth it, and the joy I see on people's face when I give them my cookies/ cake is absolutely priceless.
